The Saint Vincent DePaul Society in our diocese is embarking on a new project to better serve the poor.  This project will involve the bulk collection of clean, gently used clothing and shoes.  You can assist the society in this endeavor by placing your no longer needed clothing and shoes in the St Vincent DePaul clothing blue bin located in our rear parking lot.

Some additional facts for your information:

  • Clothing collected is distributed to any diocesan St Vincent dePaul facility that is in need.
  • Clothing not needed in the diocese is packed into 1,000 pound bales.  When there are enough bales to fill a trailer, they are sold to clothes brokers and shipped to border towns in the USA or third world countries or to recent disaster areas.
  • The Central counil handles all monies received.  No decision has been made yet as to the disbursement of these funds.  However, one plan is to establish medical and/or dental clinics.
